Hello everyone! Welcome to the third developer diary for School Simulator 2025. In our previous two entries, we explored how to build your school and set initial policies. Now, let's dive into what happens when you first open your school gates!

First though I have an announcement many of you have been waiting for! We have tentatively scheduled the start of early access for Friday February 14th. Those who purchase early access will be able to play School Simulator as it exists now, as it evolves over the course of development and receive a final, complete copy of the game when it is released.

The Opening Moment

When you click 'Open', a whirlwind of activity unfolds in just a second or two behind the screen. The game generates characters, creates classes, builds schedules, and assigns offices, etc. You'll then find yourself immersed in the simulation component of School Simulator, as hundreds—if not thousands—of characters will begin arriving at the school gate, eager (or perhaps unprepared) to start their day.

The simulation generates a diverse staff and student body, each with unique personalities and backgrounds. Some teachers may be strict, while others are more lenient. You’ll encounter students who follow the rules and those who rebel against them. Each character has their own weekly schedule, desires, and interests that influence their actions in and outside of classes.

If you're not fond of the default characters the game generates, fear not! You'll have the ability to customize any character's traits at any time during the simulation. (Talking about screwing with people's minds in real time!)

The School Day

A single day in School Simulator is divided into 16 segments, each lasting 4 minutes in real time:

Arrival
Homeroom
Academic Period 1
Break 1
Academic Period 2
Break 2
Academic Period 3
Break 3
Academic Period 4
Lunch Break
Academic Period 5
Break 4
Academic Period 6
Dismissal
Club & Sport Activities
Wrap Up

Arrival & Decisions

Let's use the arrival time as an example of how the unique traits of each character can play out. As students and staff pass through the gates, they must decide how to spend their time before homeroom (or rush there if late):

-Some may head straight to their homerooms to homework, study or simply wait
-Others might seize the opportunity for a quick game of basketball in the gym
-The academically inclined may opt for some quiet study time in the library
-Social butterflies might choose to hang out with friends in the corridors
-And let's not forget about mischief! Some students may get so caught up in basketball or gossip that they arrive late to homeroom, while others might sneak off to gamble at cards... or perhaps even a secret rendezvous with a boyfriend or scandal-waiting-to-happen teacher.

That's all for today!

----

And a quick screenshot showing the traits our ghost test character. All characters will have scalable Charm, Conformity, Introvert/Extrovert, Responsibility and Self-Control traits. Authority figures (Prefects, Teachers, etc) will also have Duty, Charisma, Favoritism, Strictness and Tolerance scalable traits. All characters are straight, bi or gay. Then some characters may also have one or more of the following traits: musician, artist, athlete, scholar, spanko, kinky (more open minded toward sex), deviant (criminally inclined) or a smoker. All of these traits can be adjusted for any character at any time by the player.

(The magnifying glass icon will move the screen to the character's location if clicked. The Puppeteer icon let's the player take direct control of the character.)
