I am struggling, I cannot really interact with anyone, the characters move so fast , and by the time teachers get there the 4 minsis up you cannot find anyone to cp as it says no one is doing anything wrong, or anyone you control cannot do it, i control head teachers eventually and cnanot find an interaction to do with people, why do they move so fast ? and everyone highlights yellow in groups as opposed to ones you try to get what am i doing wrong?

-You can use the console command "norules" to disable all CP restrictions (as in who can give it and that there must be a reason).

-My recommendation is first take control of the character you want your Headteacher (or whomever) to interact with, move them where you want and then use the release + wait option. Then take command of whom you want to interact with them, walk them to them, and do your thing.

I'll record a screen capture of how fast everyone should be moving and we can see if your experience is the same. Either way, we can certainly consider implementing a slower speed option.
(The only characters who should move 'fast' right now are the ones playing basketball in the gym.)

I am still at a total loss. No one ever does anything except walk to t room and go into it, ppl now occasionally line up at the DM he speaks and off they go, I cannot ever find anyone who has done anything wrong, any one I try to interact with and give cp it tells me I cant as they have done nothing wrong, or I cant because only certain people can administer it, but I always take control of either the discipline master, the head or deputy, and same result with all, says they cannot administer it. It is just basically 7 mins of students walking sitting in a classroom, I couldn't wait for this game but so far I am at a loss as to how things are supposed to happen. In all this development I have not seen one but of cp nor being able to give it, I have found smokers and tried to punish them but says they have not been caught doing no wrong. Your updates talk about cp sessions and the like, but how are you supposed to make this happen, it tells you in interaction to right click to do certain things, right clicking does nothing??

I also could really do with a sheet with explanations of what all the symbols means, in the menus, because they aren't obvious we need a crib sheet we can print off or bring up to tell you what they all man

Mastergoody's message is exactly what I was about to say. I too can do absolutely nothing with this game except move people around.
I would like to add another couple of things. Although, in settings, I am set to windowed rather than full screen, I only get full screen. If I have to use the PC for anything else, which I constantly do, I have to exit the whole game and go back to start, because I cannot minimiize the window. I try to save the game, but all that it saves are the options (class size etc) and it goes back to the 5 minute march of the matchstick men at the beginning.

I understand your frustrations. What you're experiencing though is normal for this stage of development. The core school simulation: things like schedules, character pathfinding, and A.I. decision making is our primary focus right now, as it’s the foundation for everything else in the game. Until the A.I. can reliably navigate the school, follow schedules, and make decisions about what to do and where to go, other systems like CP will not function as intended. This is why you’re seeing limited behaviors, like students mostly walking to rooms and sitting in class, or the Discipline Master's brief interactions.

While these results might seem small visually, the underlying code is complex, as the most recent release note mentioned, we brought on board outside help to rework pathfinding and character AI.

The good news is this, as of the last update: it works near flawlessly now, and we're close to implementing the remaining periods of the school day. Once there are all place, we'll shift focus to sub-areas like CP and other scenes happen in between arrival and dismissal.

I'll look into this; as an interim solution, I'd suggest CTRL+ESC. This will expose the taskbar on Windows and should let you minimize the game.

That's awesome news. Can't wait.

Today's update sees additional time periods added, the students come out of class and stand static along with every other character for the remainding 3 new periods, no one moves at all, and a lot of students feet are dangling through ceilings. So literally you sit and watch a still picture while time just ticks by with no movement at all once they come out of the classes in the first few seconds.

There are still some kinks we're working with decision making not firing with the new periods.

Are you in a Western or Asian school?

The first time I played the characters moved within the new periods. The next several time they did not, but then randomly worked again.

I literally run with the presaved version on each release, I do not change the settings, excepting running the time
