Once the bugs and kinks are worked out, this is what should be happen during the arrival period:

-Students and staff will spawn at the school gate throughout the arrival period
-Most will go to their homerooms or offices to wait for homeroom
-Some will opt to do other activities before heading to homeroom, which currently are:
---Smoking
---"Hanging Out"
---Playing Sports
---Studying outside of the classroom
---Gambling
---Meeting up for a sexual liaison (very rare)
[What the NPCs choose to do will depends on their generated traits along with a bit of randomness.]

When characters do this you will see a placeholder graphic over them indicting they are doing something else.

The A.I. has some issues in that it would not attempt to do other activities and also freeze up at the door for many. It is mostly fixed in the upcoming #4 build, but we're still working on narrowing down where a major performance bottleneck seems to be after many students spawn before release.

Sorry, I'm not sure if I understand.

During arrival, I can see the characters entering.
I can see the characters names under categories on the menu.
I can look at and edit the attributes of each character.
If I click on "find", it will take me to a (fairly large) part of the building (where presumably that character is) (if they are in the building). But there are usually several characters there. How do I know which is the one I've selected?
I see there are icons with puppet strings (presumably for control), but it doesn't seem to do anything. Is that not done yet or am I missing something?
The clothing does not inidcated if they are teachers or students and seems to change on the same person very frequently?

I'm not sure what are bugs, what are bits that haven't been implemented yet and what I don't understand.

There is still clumping up going on; we'll be working on getting them separated. (They actually do have assigned seats already in code, so hopefully this will be an easy fix.)

Puppet strings are working from my end, but it looks like if a character is walking already it will not work. [/quote]

Graphics are largely placeholders at this stage.
-Students wear a full uniform with a red crest on the jacket. Trousers will always be dark blue
-Administrators have a jacket with no crest; trousers will vary
-Teachers wear a dress shirt of varying colors with no jacket; trousers will also vary
-Gym teacers wears polo shirts

With luck all will become much clearer in a few more builds Smile

The characters' clothing, skin colour and hair colour are changing. Previously approximately once every second or so, now approx once every 4-5 seconds.

From your description, I'm not sure if you're seeing the same as I am.

I've taken some screenshots from two re-runs and pasted them into one JPEG per re-run so it's easier to play "Spot the difference".

That should be how it is for now until the next period (Homeroom) is enabled in a future build.

I've checked in version 5 (using the saved file copied from version 4) and characters are still clumping and colours changing.

Still, I can't use the puppet strings to control characters.

All above version 5 (using saved file from version 4 as I didn't have time to start from scrach), Windows 11 Home, 1980 x 1020, both 100% and 125% scale

I don't understand how any of the actions ("Copy homework, Insult ..., Give CP", etc.) work.

Are these features not working yet or do I just not understand what to do?

Also, every time I run it, there are students in the top left of the building gambling. I don't know what I can/should do in this situation, but should the same thing happen every time?

For interaction options:
---Options greyed out mean they are not available for this character type / combination (i.e. - a student can't write up a teacher)
---Options oranged out are not yet implemented, but will be in future builds
-CP to the butt is partially implemented, so that should work. I suggest testing it out in build mode on the sample characters.

The behavior observed for the gamblers is normal at the moment. Activity logic code for gambling, along with basketball, smoking and xxx will be added in the near future.

Hi I am new to this.
I can't get CP mode to work at all, the messages i get are, "only Prefects, Headteachers and Admin can implement CP" However the controlled person is one of these. Is this because CP is not implemented yet?. Am I doing something wrong to implement it.?
Thanks

First:
1. Double check that your school policies allow whoever's role you are controlling to use cp.
2. Ensure the student you are trying to punish has actually done something wrong

If no dice, it may be a bug, which we'll check out.

In the interim you can try this:

1. Open up the console using the ~ or F10 keys
2. Type in the following command: "norules" (no quotes) and hit enter
3. Close the console again using the ~ or F10 keys

This command should disable both the authority figure requirement and the need for the student to have broken a rule to use CP.

Ok, CP mode works when i use the norules command. Should there be sound? I have the sfx option selected?

So not sure why CP doesn't work without the norules, i have all authority and selections correct?, and always try it on a pupil who has been naughty.

Sound will be added in the coming month. (We were actually recording effects just last week.)

We'll check out what's going with CP without norules; it's probably just a bug or two

We made a number of fixes to CP mode and character A.I. in v19; overall should be much more stable and less wonky now. Audio is still coming in a future build.

19 does indeed feel and seem more stable all around. Keep up the great work team!
