There's a lot here.
When I first open the menu, it looks like this:
If I try to select any category option (with a few exceptions I'll cover shortly), I get this list of characters in a broken state. It's the same characters no matter which category I select.
If I select Head Teachers, I get a different, shorter list. This is the only option that yields a different result, except for Coaches, which clears it and returns it to the blank view I see when I open the menu for the first time.
Aside from this, the buttons for view and puppeteer trigger on mouseover and not on click; if I move my mouse across the menu at all, the first button it passes over will be triggered. No other interface elements in the game behave this way (and neither does anything else on my machine) so I'm sure I don't have any input devices actually sending left clicks.
Windows 11, 1920 x 1080, borderless. Let me know if there's anything I can test out or any other info you need.

The screen is working great now! I can't wait to see how they all begin interacting. The only issue I saw was there seems to be occasionally "nameless" students. Meaning there is a blank slot, but clicking it on actually brings up a student who has no name.
