Hello all. It's time for the eleventh developer diary for School Simulator.
The Discipline Master series has used more or less the same models for the school campus buildings and rooms since Episode 1. Indeed many of these models are even older; going all the way back to Magnus3D's Bottom Line Comics. These will be largely be retired for School Simulator, with a new generation of models being used to build our new virtual school.
Today I wanted to show the design of the new campus, or at least the best I can using text, showing the much larger size than previous D.M. games:
Main Building
The main building of the campus has three floors. This is where the main classrooms are as well as most teacher and administrative offices. It has a central section with two wings on the sides (left for juniors, right for seniors). It looks something like this: |_| ; current layout is as follows:
Central [Floor 1]: Stairs <-> Offices <-> Entrance Area <-> Conference Room <-> Stairs
Central [Floor 2]: Stairs <-> Offices <-> Restroom <-> Offices <-> Stairs
Central [Floor 3]: Stairs <-> Offices <-> Restroom <-> Offices <-> Stairs

Exterior
There are currently 10 exterior maps that wrap around the school.
I'm going to leave it there for today. Next time we'll talk more about the classrooms, which are being designed and presented a bit differently than the standard maps.
Lastly here are few early renders (no-touch work having been done or backgrounds added) of some of the new maps:
